The original racer was Jim Riley out of Eastland AMC
in Michigan. Jim was one of the competitors of the
Javelin Speed Spectacular Race at Bonneville.  He
also worked at AMC and wrote the "Performance
American Style" book. The car was originally purple
at the 1969 US Nationals in Indy, then changed to
blue.  He was trying to start an AMC club called
"Camrisers", similar to MOPAR's Ramchargers club.
The club didn't take off and the car went back to the
dealership around '72.




 
 

 
 
 
The red, white, and blue car is Howard Maseles in the prototype car. The
Beachy Brothers car can be seen near the green tent.
